Welcome to Fit XO <3 Your new home for life hacks and quick tips about health and wellness. I've learned a lot of the years, and now I want to share it all with you! My love of health/fitness really began while attending the College of Charleston in SC. Determined not to gain the ‘Freshman 15’, I started going to the campus gym regularly. Since I wasn’t playing sports anymore I knew I had to exercise to keep my athletic shape. In college I met a personal trainer named Billy. I trained with him and eventually trained under him as a personal trainer. He taught me his methods and referred a couple of his clients. This is when I found my love of helping people with their health goals and personal training. I learned how to write out effective workouts and modify them depending on the client’s specific goals. After college I moved back home (Fort Mill, SC) to try and figure out what the heck I was going to do with my life. I finally had a Business degree in Hospitality and Tourism and I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do with it. I eventually started working full-time for Hilton and my passion for fitness slowly started to fade away. I got busier and busier and when I wasn’t working I wanted to go hang out with my friends and go drinking/clubbing on the weekends. I had lost my motivation. One day I got so upset and decided I needed to make a change.
I starting working out with a good friend and he helped me get back on track. A couple weeks into training he recommended competing in a fitness competition. I started researching the sport and decided I wanted to go for it. I joined a competition team called the Bronzed Divas, hired a Bikini Competition Coach named CJ and began training for a competition in Culver City, CA. With my coach's expertise, my dedication, and 17 weeks of hardcore dieting/training, I won my first National Physiques Committee Bikini Competition in Culver City, CA. I knew my ultimate goal was to explore my options in LA, so I bought a one-way ticket to this competition and hoped and prayed my hard work would pay off! But between the fitness competition and the entertainment industry in LA, it wasn't long before I was mentally drained. It was difficult to find my niche in the modeling industry. I thought I was too big to model but not ripped enough to be in the fitness world. It was a constant battle. I found success as a model/actress and appeared in several music videos and television shows. There's more to tell about my experiences in LA but that will make for some good blog posts later ;)

I lived in LA for almost 2 years trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle and work as a model/actress. Everything came to a halt when I found out I was pregnant. I eventually moved back to Charlotte, NC and had a beautiful baby girl, Nova Marie. I am currently on my own fitness journey after giving birth! To me, Fit XO represents the confidence, positive, fearlessness, and motivation that resides inside us all! No matter what shape, what size, or where you are in life. I have been through it all and I want to inspire others to follow their dreams and help make health/fitness your lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be as hard as you think. I put a lot of my personal goals to the side while in LA trying to achieve a certain standard of "success" in the entertainment industry, so this is my outlet to do what I love and help people who really matter. I have my own personal fitness goals but what are yours? I want to help lead the way <3
